Update

Hello!

So i did about a week on this banana diet, but not entirely bananas. I would say it was rather a "high banana diet" :P I just got bored i guess, or i just couldnt stick to it. Maybe i will try it someday again. I experienced so much more energy though, for example today i went to run for 45-50 minutes TWO times, in the morning and in the evening. I didnt force myself to go, i just needed to get this energy out. So yes, eat more sugary sweet fruit and you have the energy and free will to exercise and it feels so good! I was running today and i didnt felt tired at all. I felt like i was floating in the air, running was so effortless, even when i was full of bananas in the evening :P

Little Banana Island recipe in between ;) Process frozen bananas in food processor until smooth and serve with banana slices and cinnamon - Yum!

So today i was thinking about my diet and what to do next. I have significantly cut down my cooked food. Recently eating for dinner this Chickpea-sweet potato salad almost every evening. You can see the recipe under "Low fat transition recipes". So now i was thinking to cut it even more - to only sweet corn and sweet potato eaten with a big salad in the evenings. So its only two cooked food ingredients. And i love steamed corn and my sweet potatoes :) I dont know, though, should i cut back the avocado as well? I have eaten 1/2-1 avocado a day. 1 avocado is little bit much, so maybe i stay with 1/2 for a while and then maybe try to leave it out?

BUT i am still gonna continue my "high banana diet" - i bought another case of bananas today and they are already ready to eat. So my plan:

Breakfast: 10 bananas + dates smoothie
Lunch: 10 bananas + greens
Dinner: sweet potato, steamed corn, 1/2 avocado, lettuce, tomato, zucchini salad
So its about 2500 cal a day, if i need to eat more i can simply add more bananas or dates :)

I am currently very active as well, which is great. Monday to wednesday i do about 12 hour active job shifts. Thursday to sunday i do another 5 hour job and then go running for about 45 min 3 times.

And you know what?! I finally went to measure my body fat %. I did it once about 5 years ago and i remembered it was too high, so i was kinda worried, and wanted to just know what my bodyfat is right now, since last year i was jo-jo-ing between raw and junk. More junk i guess. BUT my bodyfat turned out to be just 19.6. Which is great! Its very healthy. Athletic bodyfat highest is about 18. Average woman bodyfat is somewhere between 19-25. So mine is very good. I cant believe it actually, i still think maybe she measured it wrong :D And what is this cellulite on my tights - a muscle? :D But hey...maybe it is :)

One more thing. In december i was weighing 64 kg, now i am 60 :) So 4 kilos off!!! Thanks to raw fruit breakfast and lunches and low fat cooked dinners and more exercise! No calorie restriction here - i eat as much as i want - be it 2500 or 3000 cals :)

Banana Island!

I am going to a Banana Island for 14 days!

No, im not going to this island...

But i am going to the "Banana Island", what means to eat only bananas. And i am gonna do it for 14 days!
Why? Because it should be good if you wanna kick start your raw food diet. I havent been fully raw for a period of time now, being about 80%, but i want to increase my rawness :P Douglas Graham puts many raw newbies on a banana mono-eating for some period. They say our taste-buds change in every 10-14 days so it a good way to get over your cravings. Going to banana island will benefit your digestion as well and it will give it a rest. For example you dont have to worry about food combining. And it will make the start of your 100% raw journey so much more easier - you dont have to constantly think what to buy or what to eat because answer is always the same - bananas! :D

Of course you can have some varieties in your banana island. You can even create some recipes from bananas alone. Some examples:

  • Banana smoothie - blended banana with water
  • Banana porridge - bananas smashed with a fork gives this porridge-like texture
  • Banana cereal - banana slices with blended bananas
  • Banana ice cream - Frozen bananas blended in food processor
  • Banana chips - dehydrates or sun-dried banana slices
  • Banana milk - blended bananas with generous amount of water will have milky consistence

Or, if you want, you can add 1 more ingredient:
  • Banana-date smoothie - banas blended with dates
  • Green smoothie - bananas blended with greens
  • Banana-berry smoothy - banas blended with blueberries for example
  • Banana ice cream with carob - blended frozen bananas covered with carob mixture
  • Banana sushi - bananas pieces rolled inside a sun-dried or dehydrates banana slices
  • Banana wrap - banana wrapped in some green leafy vegetable like romaine or lettuce
  • Banana celery bites - bananas on celery sticks
and so on and on...

I started with my banana island today and here is my banana box, nice and spotty...i will get another box today to let it ripen.

Right now its 14:49 pm and i have already eaten 20 big bananas, some celery and some blueberries in a smoothie, so its about 2500 cal.
