Durian and house sitting

Currently we are doing "house sitting" for three weeks. The owners of the house went travelling and we are looking after the house, their two dogs and four chickens :) If you want to know more about house sitting, that its very cheap way to travel for example, you can look it from here: http://www.housecarers.com/ And you can do it all over the world.


Its very beautiful house with a little vegetable-fruit-herb garden. We have dragonfruit, grapefruit, pineapple, pumpkin, taro, basilic, cilantro and some greens.

We are not working for these three weeks so I have lots of free time to experiment with recipes. I have made some low fat cooked recipes and some of them you can see under the tab "Low fat transition recipes". Also I´m studying my Health Practitioner course and that´s why you have seen me adding here summaries about that. It´s much more fun sharing it in my blog, rather than just writing it and leaving it in my computer :)

I really really wanna loose weight, so I started with some exercising. Back in Estonia I had these Cindy Crawford workout tapes I could watch on TV. I really missed them. So i got her DVDs. I am so glad I did it. If i do it with a tape, I feel like I am exercising with somebody and it gives so much more motivation to push hard and to go all the way. And of course she has a perfect body, so exercising with her I keep in mind that "I wanna have a body like that!" :D

These are some guidelines I follow to loose weight:
1. Eat fruit for breakfast and lunch (as much as I want)
2. Eat low fat vegan cooked for dinner (also, as much as I want)
3. Drink much water, at least 3 liters a day. Its very hot here, so its not a problem
4. Eat last meal before 6 pm.
5. Exercise 3-5 times a week.
6. Get enough sleep and sunshine
7. Be stress free and happy :)

After just two days of exercising following Cindy´s tape I already feel better. I haven´t loose any weight, i think, but its something to do with being more in tune with my body. Exercising gives me more confident or something :) I feel much better.

And also I downloaded from internet one interval training audio. Interval training is a type of training where you do vigorous exercise with rest in between. Like 2 minutes giving all you got and then resting 20 sec (something like that). AND this kind of training supposedly burns more fat. And with audio its much easier, because you dont have to watch the clock all the time. You just use your mp3 player and guy in your ears tells you when to run very fast, and when to jog, if you take it to running with you. So im gonna try it.


Today we went to the markets, to get more fruit, since our bananas are still in ripening process. And guess what?! There was DURIAN! I had tried it already once before, in December, but it was too ripe, so I didin´t got the right taste. It was ok, but weird. So now I had the chance to try it again. Ant it was...i dunno if i should write WEIRD or AMAZING...i think it was WEIRDLY AMAZING :D It was really good. I think I have a new favorite fruit!
We saw some sellers and many of them know us, as we lived in Port Douglas for four months and bought fruit from them every weekend, usually more than anybody. So we had a nice chat with them as well and got some free tasting ;)
